What You’ll Do
We are seeking a full time AV Technician to join our tech savvy Onsite team at Air BnBs Gurgaon offices in India.. The role will involve working within the AV events team managing the creation and distribution of content via multiple methods of outreach such as video conferencing, live streaming, online, pre-records for pr/marketing etc. The ideal candidate will have a knack for all things events and social related with proven experience in operating a variety of technical equipment within an AV, Broadcast or Production capacity. This role will also involve an element of travel to Air BnB’s Bangalore premise as and when required so willingness to travel (sometimes at short notice) is a mandatory requirement for the position..

The Day-to-Day
- Provide day-to-day support and routine inspection of conference rooms and event spaces.
- Work closely with the onsite IT support teams and local partners.
- Ensure processes and procedures are followed and changes documented.
- Manage third party vendor AV equipment rental for events.
- Manage AV service/maintenance calls, where applicable.
- Setup portable and manage permanently installed AV equipment as needed for events.
- “White Glove” support for executive level meetings, as needed.
- Monitor the health status of AV hardware and peripheral devices including control surfaces, cabling, touch-panels, batteries etc.
- Transport and setup of video, lighting, and audio equipment as required.
- Communicate with Event Producers effectively as well as explain our services to technical and non-technical customers and clients as needed.
- Monitors assigned video conferencing calls on end user’s event sites.
- Troubleshoot as needed to satisfy the end user’s needs and escalate if necessary.
- Creates and executes development plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Keeps Seniors, Leads & Supervisors well informed of status of event support efforts and serves as liaison between other technical staff and clients.
- Contributes and abides by SOP documents, completing detailed event reporting as well as utilizing the event ticketing system.
- Owns the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout support planning and delivery.
- Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients.
- Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
- Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
What You’ll Need
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in an office-based AV support role.
- Good AV troubleshooting skills.
- Good AV knowledge as it pertains to video conferencing or event-based technology.
- Knowledge of audio mixers, public address (PA) speaker systems and live audio production support.
- Experience with video conferencing hardware (e.g. Cisco, Polycom, Neat, etc.)
- Familiarity using Zoom or other cloud-based video collaboration applications (Skype, Webex etc.)
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written fluent English required) and ability to collaborate effectively across the team and the organization.
- Must be comfortable reporting to a remote team.
- Ability to prioritize work tasks and appropriately escalate issues when needed.
- Experience operating Mac OS and Windows computers with a good level of computer literacy.
- Familiarity with the GSuite of applications such as Google Slides, Docs and Sheets
- Ability to lift 50 pounds un – aided.
Bonus skills
- Experience with live events/broadcasts – e.g. Townhall, Fireside chats, Q&;A’s
- Experience with video streaming platforms (similar to Youtube, etc.)
- Understanding of or experience with broadcast production equipment (video switchers e.g. Blackmagic ATEM, and software/hardware encoders.)
- Basic knowledge of audio and video editing on Adobe suite or other NLE software.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira or similar.
