To support this we have an in-house video production department that produces live streams, events, digital content, TVCs & corporate films, and a talent division that offers a fully managed service for permanent & freelance staffing across the AV & production industries. Our services also extend to content seeding, broadcasting studio builds, video asset management, webcasting, mobile and social applications development.

Our client Facebook is seeking a Broadcast Engineer in London  to support all aspects of live broadcast, streaming and produced video products.  This is a very technical role which requires support of technology such as encoders, mixers, routers and other pertinent broadcast equipment.  This role will be pivotal in keeping the broadcast studio operational and will act as the engineer in charge.  This role will interact with clients so strong customer service skills are a must.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all studio production equipment and infrastructure
  • Responsible for all studio software, hardware encoders, mixers, routers and other pertinent broadcast technology
  • Oversees and troubleshoots all aspects of signal flow in the video broadcast environment
  • Ensures technical success for all MPK studio broadcasts – internal and external facing
  • Takes ownership of the technical workflow and process involved in studio productions
  • Responsible for all routing/terminal equipment such as Evertz, Grass Valley, Ross
  • Experience engineering and shading EFP cameras such as Sony, Grass Valley, Ikegami, Hitachi
  • Coordinates AV, Network, and Labor requests with studios
  • Marks up venue drawings with tech requirements (i.e. Power, Cabling, Projectors, 
Screens, etc) 

  • Coordinates IT assets for studio and tracks logistics and availability 

  • Assists in execution of action items for various internal projects
  • Manages and maintains inventory of existing and incoming IT assets and accessories for studios
  • Seeks out quality vendor partnerships in region
  • Provides consultation to internal customers for upcoming studio shoots
  • Assists internal customers in vendor sourcing and management
  • Acting surrogate when team members are unable to join meetings due to travel or other engagements
  • Easily steps into role of V1, A1, A2, TD and other production related duties as assigned
  • Keeps regional team members up to date with changes in scope to existing event 
timelines

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in all aspects of broadcast and studio equipment including hardware and software
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines, on a fast-faced production schedule
  • Great at taking direction, but also able to work independently and make sound choices without additional support
  • Strong interest in technology and agility at learning new products and features
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional nights and weekends if needed
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
