What is your name and job title?
Bryony Hill, Design & Marketing Manager at Dreamtek.

How would you describe your job to someone outside of the industry?
My role as the Design & Marketing Manager at Dreamtek is very creative, initially I built Dreamtek’s brand, logo and website and now continue to help deliver our marketing strategy, designing all on and offline marketing materials.

How did you get into what you do now?
I always loved design and being creative from a young age. I studied Graphic Design at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design and then went on to Westminster University to where I completed my degree. Dreamtek was one of my 1st jobs, it’s been an amazing journey helping them grow and expand globally.

How has the industry changed since you started?
I have been in the industry almost 20 years now and it’s safe to say technology has definitely moved on. One of the most exciting parts of my job is to adapt and stay up to date with the latest trends.

What is your favourite part of your job?
The best part of my job will always be to bring the company’s ideas and concepts alive visually.

What do you do at work on a daily basis?
I supply all the design and visual elements for Dreamtek, this covers everything from the website and social media posts to brochures and event/stand designs.

What advice do you have for someone new to the industry?
Always be ready to learn something new. Design is always changing not only the trends/fashion but also the technology platforms we use.

What hard skills should someone in your field have?
A good understanding of Graphic Design, Web Design and Marketing. HTML, CSS and the Adobe Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and XD.

What soft skills should someone in your field have?
You need to have a passion for design and have the ability to listen to others’ and bring their ideas alive.

Who inspires you?
This is an easy one, my mum and my sister, their work ethic is incredible.
