How would you describe your job to someone outside of the industry? What do you do on a daily basis?
As a Video Conference Technician, we support all Clients in the World Bank with Video conference in Webex, Zoom and MS teams. We help with scheduling, troubleshooting connections, adding back up recording and active monitoring the meetings.
This included checking the gear conferences rooms and communication with engineers in case we encounter any problems.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Preparing a client for a meeting, making everything is all set.
What’s your greatest achievement or something you’re proud of from your career?
When you finish an event, and everything goes as planned, It is an everyday achievement.
What’s the coolest experience you’ve had in your career?
I was part of a project, in Brazil, filming Rio de Janeiro by helicopter. Before we have drones, lol..
How did you get into what you do now?
I started as Audio Video tech and learned a lot with all events I’ve been working with.
How has the industry changed since you started?
Internet changed everything! Conferences are connected from personal laptops.
What advice do you have for someone new to the industry?
Be prepare to learn a new thing every day. Technology changes very fast.
What soft and hard skills should someone in your field have?
Soft skill: Good communication.
