PW39Last Thursday, the 21st March, we held our fourth and largest Power Women event yet. This exclusive event took place at Level39 in One Canada Square, Canary Wharf. Taking in London’s skyline, our guests were treated to inspiring speakers, canapés, wine and the opportunity to network with like-minded women and men in business.

Held in the world’s most connected tech community, our topic for this evening was women in tech, with a focus on how to transform business by driving diversity in technology. We discussed how to deliver greater innovation and performance by driving diversity across all sectors within the technology industry and across all levels from schools to the boardroom.

We were once again joined by female and male leaders from global organisations such as Google, Facebook, Salesforce, BP and Spotify.

PW39 2Our host for the evening was Hannah, our UK VP. Hannah opened the event by sharing her own stories and experiences on diversity, drawing on examples from the women who lead the technology world.

Hannah introduced our two speakers, Cecilia Harvey, Founder and Chair of Tech Women Today, and Christie Fidura, Director of EMEA Developer Marketing, Salesforce. Cecilia is an outspoken advocate for women’s opportunities and success in the world of technology, Cecilia Harvey is both the founder of the influential Tech Women Today platform and a tech entrepreneur in her own right having worked as COO of Citigroup Markets and Securities Services Technology, and she’s held positions with Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital and IBM Consulting.

Cecilia provided a background into her career development, drawing on key experiences to then deliver an impactful presentation on how we can all work to improve diversity within the technology industry. With practical advice for making changes within their organisations, Cecilia gave our guests some hands-on solutions to solve problems that all organisations are currently facing.

PW29 3Christie is the Director of EMEA Developer Marketing at Salesforce. She is a professionally certified and award-winning Community Manager, and has mixed those skills into her career as an IT developer relations marketing professional. She builds and executes campaigns, activities and events which engage, activate and nurture developers. provided an insight into how she developed her career within tech to become a leading marketer within Salesforce, doing a job she loves. She took us through the decisions she had made, the experiences she’d had and finished by discussing what we can do to continue to drive diversity within tech.

PW39 4Both highly successful in their career achievements, it was wonderful to hear how Cecilia and Christie have shaped their careers and are now both giving back, providing support and guidance to others in the technology industry.

Our fourth Power Women event was stunning, inspiring and hugely popular! We hope our guests came away feeling invigorated and optimistic about the changes they can make within their own organisations towards creating an equal future.

The advancement of women in business is a theme supported by everyone at Dreamtek and we hope to work together with the attendees of the meeting to support each other as we strive to drive Power Women forward.

We can’t wait for our next event in Dublin!
